What remain of our body after death?
This is an exploration about the final deterioration of the body, what remains of it.
Not a research on the essence of being, at least not directly.
The subjects are mummies photographed throughout Italy, in the crypts of churches, on museums and universities.
The imperfect technique of the emulsion transfer arouses the person who is viewing the photographs to the decomposition of the substance itself.
About technique used: these prints are results of image tranfer process, not using polaroid material, but starting from inkjet prints.
Putting high gloss inkjet print on hot water, the gloss surface detach from its support and can be transferred to watercolor paper.
Same as polaroid, but using inkjet print
The final results is the same.
And each transfer create an unique print.
